Life and public service
Abdul Qaiyum Ansari was a political leader from Bihar whose career connected the Momin movement with public service. He led the Bihar Provincial Jamiat-ul-Momineen from 1938 to 1947.
Leadership and representation
After independence, Ansari held ministerial responsibilities in Bihar, including public works, cottage industry, and relief and rehabilitation. He also served as president of the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee and as a member of the Congress Working Committee. He entered the Rajya Sabha in 1970.
His career forms part of the history of Momin political organization and representation in twentieth-century India.
