Life and social reform
Ali Husain Aasim Bihari, commonly known as Asim Bihari, was a social activist born in Bihar Sharif. He later worked in Kolkata, where he promoted literacy and helped organize the Momin Ansari community.
Community organization
Bihari established newspapers and helped build Jamiat-ul-Momineen, an organization advocating for Muslim weavers. Accounts of the Pasmanda movement identify him as one of its early pioneers.
Legacy
He died in Allahabad on 6 December 1953. Ahmad Sajjad’s biography, Banda-e-Momin Ka Hath, was published in 2011 and documents his life and work.
